  • •This is an American Rabbit Breeders Association Sanctioned Show and will be governed by their latest revised rules. This show is sponsored by the Lincoln County Fair. Entry form must be completely filled out with Breed Name, Variety (if applicable), sex and class, as well as division number and class number (including letter). The filling of an entry form indicates acceptance of rules and regulations. 

  • No does and litters accepted. 

  • All youth entries must be carried to the show table by a youth. 

  • Rabbit must be in a carrier or cage. No boxes allowed. Exhibitor must furnish. 

  • All rabbits MUST be permanently and legibly earmarked in the animals’ left ear. 

  • Any rabbit showing symptoms of disease will not be allowed to compete. 

  • All rabbits that are over-weight or under-weight will be eliminated.

The American Rabbit Breeders Association host club reserves the right to refuse entries from exhibitors placing an entry from all locations within 150 miles which has had a confirmed outbreak of RCV/RHD/VHD within the past 60 days of the entry deadline.

Rabbit Hopping Contest 

Saturday, July 7, 2018 

Lincoln County Fairgrounds, Stanford, KY 

Contest begins at conclusion of regular show.

General Rules for Competition 

  1. Animal entered may be any breed of domestic rabbit, no pedigree is required. 

  2. Rabbits must be healthy and free of any disease or parasite. 

  3. Pregnant does are not permitted to compete. 

  4. Animal handlers will be responsible for cleaning up any debris their animal leaves. 

  5. Rabbits shall proceed through the course voluntarily. Animal handlers are prohibited from forcing/carrying animals, but may lift them over jumps, if necessary. Assistance may not involve yelling. Touching rabbit with you feet is not permitted. 

  6. Handlers will not use leash to lift or hit rabbit as a means of discipline or to move rabbit. 

  7. Animal handlers must always use good sportsmanship. 

  8. Three attempts may be made. Time for the three runs will be averaged for a final time. 

  9. No treats (for you or your rabbit) will be allowed on the hopping course. 

  10. The hopping surface will be mats

Rabbit Hopping: Easy Class 

• 3 jumps total • Jump Height: 5” - 10” • 6 faults allowed • Minimum distance between jumps: 4’ 

Scoring for Rabbit Hopping and Agility Classes 

The Danish Rabbit Hopping and Agility Scorecard shall be used. If two rabbits have the same number of faults, the rabbit with the faster time is placed higher. In the event of a tie, there shall be one run at a course. This run will determine the winner. 

Faults will constitute any of the following: 

1. Upsetting an obstacle. One fault shall be issued, regardless of how many rails were upset. 

2. Lifting. A rabbit may be lifted over an obstacle, but one fault per obstacle will be issued. 

3. Out of bounds: if a rabbit goes more than 5’ off the course it shall be considered a fault. 

4. Outside assistance: any help from parents, 4-H leaders, or other youth or adults, such as telling the handler which obstacle is next, cues to the rabbits, etc. 

For all contests, rabbits will be blood tested on site unless you have health papers proving they have been 

tested within the past 90 days and are free of diseases.
